Practical training is an essential part of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course, which is designed to provide students with the opportunity to put theoretical knowledge into practical skills. The aim of practical training is to help students in developing skills and abilities to become independent, critical in their thinking, possess intellectual skills, and be effective and efficient in their performance.
The practical training is important not only because it exposes students to the latest technology implemented in the aviation industry, but also by helping the students learn from experience and relate their classroom learning to workplace activities.
Education is no longer confined to the boundaries of a classroom. Under CAR 147(Basic) introduced by DGCA, practical training in an actual working environment is compulsory. To this end, Sha-Shib has associated itself with A I Engineering Services Ltd. MRO, Go Airlines, Air Works India Ltd. MRO, Indamer Aviation and many more organisations in order to give hands-on training to the students.
Aircraft Maintenance Experience is the practical, on-the-job expertise acquired by Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs) through hands-on maintenance, inspection, and repair tasks on aircraft. This real-world experience is indispensable for AMEs as it equips them with the skills and knowledge needed to guarantee the safety and airworthiness of aircraft.
An applicant for the AME licence must have completed a prescribed period of aircraft maintenance experience. This experience is gained in accordance with the rules framed by the DGCA in alignment with international standards specified by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for maintaining aircraft, components, or systems. It is acquired under the supervision of a qualified person.
Candidates must gain practical maintenance experience on aircraft. The exact number of hours or years of experience required by the DGCA under CAR-66 can vary depending on the category and sub-category of aircraft. This experience is usually obtained by working under the supervision of a licensed AME in DGCA-approved CAR-145 Maintenance & Repair Organizations (MROs).
This maintenance experience is only recognized when gained in a specified controlled environment under DGCA CAR-145 approved organisations (MRO) and under the supervision of qualified AMEs. In short, maintenance experience obtained under a CAR-145 (MRO) organisation is crucial for the issuance of an AME licence.
Institutions under Sha-Shib Group have tieups in one or more combinations of following organisations.
Sha-Shib Group's 13+ MRO network around the country can provide additional and exclusive practical training to students to give them an edge in the competitive world.
