Aeronautical Engineering is the scientific study of design, techniques of operating aircrafts and manufacturing of flight machines. The objective of studying Aeronautical Engineering is to design, construct, analyse and test commercial aircrafts for their optimum performance.

Over the last decade, the growth in space mission projects along with the need to develop new space equipment has made the field of Aeronautical Engineering very much popular among student. Aeronautical Engineering provides all-round and in- depth knowledge to students in areas such as designing, development and manufacturing of missiles and aircrafts. There is a huge need of Aeronautical Engineers in the field of defence and space science who can design, test and contribute to the production of modern space equipment.

3 year diploma from a recognized board/University or equivalent

Duration of course: Course is divided in to 8 semesters of 6 months and total duration of course is 4 years as per the norms of VTU, Karnataka

Aeronautical Engineers are trained with sound knowledge of aerospace materials, aerodynamics, flight mechanics and structure propulsion, they are easily getting employed with ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) and The Ministry of Defence. After doing Bachelors in Aeronautical Engineering, one can jobs with lucrative salary packages with reputed organizations such as National Aeronautical Laboratory, Civil Aviation Department, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Defence Research and Development Laboratories (DRDO).

Career prospects for Aeronautical Engineers are bright and have a great future ahead. Other than India, Aeronautical Engineers can find jobs in other countries such as USA, France, UK, and Germany. There is a huge demand for Engineers in private companies such as Airbus and prestigious research centres.
