AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE ENGINEERING

A licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is the only authorised personnel to ensure the airworthiness of an aircraft before take-off in accordance with the national and international civil aviation rules and standards.

Aircraft Maintenance Engineering licence is issued to the students who have undergone proper training in AME colleges in India in compliance with the CAR 66 and 133B of the Aircraft Rule, 1937 derived from the Aircraft act 1934 (XXII to 1934) passed by the Indian parliament, Govt. of India under the aircraft rule 1937. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is the regulatory authority which deals with civil aviation in the country.

An aircraft consist of very delicate electrical and electronic components, and engines which need regular maintenance and extra care to keep the systems intact and airworthiness. Regular inspection and maintenance of these components onboard are mandated by the DGCA and are done by licenced aircraft maintenance engineers only. They are specifically trained to do the tasks error-free in accordance with CAR regulations by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.

Eligibility for Application

Students of any Nationality may be admitted to the A.M.E. course. The minimum Educational qualification is as below:

Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry & Maths from a recognized board or university.

3 Year Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Aeronautical from a recognized board or university.

Medical Examination for physical fitness and colour blindness by a certified Registered medical practitioner.

AME Course Duration

SHA-SHIB AEROSPACE ENGINEERING is approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Civil Aviation (Govt. of India) under CAR – 147 Basic (to harmonize training requirements for the maintenance training organizations to International standards. CAR 147 (Basic) is based on EASA Part 147) for conduction of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course.
